Orb Weaving Spider

Transverse abdominal banding identifies the Banded Orb Weavers.

Make suspended, sticky, wheel-shaped orb webs.

 

Webs are placed in openings between trees and shrubs where insects are likely to fly.

Reluctant to bite, symptoms usually negligible or slight.
